Opencart Plugin

Introduction

This WordPress Plugin was developed so that people with self hosted Opencart Shopping Cart System are able to integrate into their shopping cart systems the ability to send SMS alerts & notifications to administrators & customers alike.

Features:

1. Enable or disable the following Admin Alerts:
   • Alert admin when customer registers an account
   • Alert admin when customer checkouts
   • Include ordered items in SMS
   • Allow long message if message length exceeds 153 characters for ASCII or 63 for Unicode
2. Enable or disable the following Customer Alerts:
   • Alert customer when customer successfully checkouts
   • Alert customer when order status is updated
3. In addition to the above auto-notification SMS, you are able to manually send ad-hoc SMS to:
   • All Customers
   • Customer Groups
   • Selected Customers
4. Select whether the message types are:
   • Normal (English, Malay) or
   • Unicode (Chinese, Japanese)


Requirements:

• Opencart installed on your host server (Unix/Linux Server)
• A WebSMS2u.com Account Package
• SMS Credits to send Outgoing Messages


Version History:

• Version 1.0 (Works with Opencart version 2.0.2.0. It should also work fine with 2.0.1.0 & 2.0.1.1)

Installation Instructions

1. IMPORTANT: You must install vQmod to run our SMS module plugin for Opencart. The official repository can be located at https://github.com/vqmod/vqmod . Alternatively, you may download it from http://www.websms2u.com/docs/vqmod-2.5.1-opencart.zip
2. Unzip the "Opencart WebSMS2u SMS Notification Plugin"
3. Upload the contents to the root directory and maintain the directory structure.
4. After finished uploading, login as admin (http://www.yourstore.com/admin/). Go to Admin Area > Extension, and then click "Modules".
5. Look for "WebSMS2u" and click "Install"
6. After that, click "Edit" on "WebSMS2u"
7. Key in your WebSMS2u username & password in the fields
8. Key in your Administrator's Mobile Number (to receive alerts)
9. Tick alert #1 : to send sms alert admin when customer registers an account.
10. Tick alert #2 : to send sms alert admin when customer do the checkouts.
11. Customize your own customer checkout message and order status message as needed.

How-to Use

How to Send SMS to Your Clients

1. Go to 'System' > 'Users' > 'User Groups'.
2. Select 'Administrator' and tick module/WebSMS2u to enable the ACCESS PERMISSIONS and MODIFY PERMISSIONS (sale/websms2u).
3. Now that the permissions have been set. You are able to use the Message Sending interface to send SMS
4. When you wish to send your messages, click on the 'Sales' > 'WebSMS2u' button.
5. Choose your customer group (All Customers, Customer Groups, Selected Customers)
6. Select your Message Type (Normal or Unicode)
7. Type in your Message and click 'Send Now' to enjoy our bulk SMS marketing services now!
8. Click on the "Report" tab to view the sent report.
